When life gets complicated, I reach out for the simplicities of my life—like taking a long walk, penning down my thoughts or just sitting with my kids to read a children’s book or even watching a movie. All this gives me positive yet realistic perspectives on everything I’m dealing with.

To quote a few lines from supposedly children’s literature that inspire me:

A Man who never made mistakes, never made anything.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid (2012)

Nobody but me is going to change my story.

Matilda

It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to your enemies, but a great deal more to stand up to your friends.

Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone

And there are a gazillion more.

It might seem childlike but those kid stories are positive, impactful for the adult life circus and leaves me with a deep sigh of relief, with my nerves calm and a mind that is ticking in the right direction.
