Are you someone who lives for the weekends? Are you someone who can’t wait to get done with the week? And then come Monday morning sing the same song of waiting for the weekend? Do you dread your weekdays?

If the answer is yes for all these questions then you’re not doing it right. You can change that right now. You just have to rewire your thinking (it’s easier than it sounds).

Please don’t live the same week 52 times a year and call it a new year. And definitely don’t live the same year for 50 and call it a life. For your own sake please don’t.

You can start small. When Monday comes around don’t shirk it but welcome it this time. Wake up feeling grateful. If you cannot find anything to be grateful for just be grateful for the amazing sleep you had the previous night. Try noticing the good things in your day.

If you hate your job just for this Monday look at something you appreciate about it (Maybe your colleague, the coffee, anything). If you hate school/studying, just for today see something you like about it. Maybe your favourite class or professor or the friend you have in school.

Maybe just for today focus on the amazing food you eat or the water you actually somehow always forget to drink. WATER—it gives us life, drink a little more today. Softly pour yourself water and just focus on drinking it mindfully. I promise you’ll know how amazing your Monday is. (So simple, WATER).

Just this Monday put your phone down and notice the life around you (and for God’s sake do not be on your phone at the dinner table because that’s just disrespectful to everyone sitting to eat with you). Maybe you live in a busy city or maybe you live in a beautiful country side, either way you’re too engrossed in your phone to pay attention to the magical things happening around you. Just notice it today and not through the lens of your smart phone.

Today just spend five minutes in complete silence. Put all your devices away and shut the outside world and just sit in silence. This is how you will know your inner self, that voice that stays with you every moment of every day. It’ll help you develop your relationship with yourself (it’s the most important one).

Just this Monday appreciate someone in your life. Tell your unconditionally loving mom “Thank you” because trust me she does everything for you without even asking or ever hoping for anything in return. Mom’s are like that (They’re Gods angels on earth).

Tell your soul mate/ partner/ wife/ husband you appreciate them. You will realise how so simply you can put a smile on someone’s face that is so near and dear to you. When you lift others in your life I promise you will feel better.

If you just try to change simple things about your day I know this for sure, you won’t be wondering what day it is and you definitely won’t be wondering when the weekend was going to show up because you are so done with week.

It’s tough to change everything about your life in one go (it’s definitely possible though) but starting small will make you feel victorious throughout your day. And I guarantee it’ll be a summation of some pretty good days turned into weeks and that turned into a darn good life.

Begin at once to live and count each separate day as a separate life.

Once you aren’t at war with Mondays, Tuesday or the weekdays and see them as living your best life every day you won’t be thanking God for Fridays. TGIF, YOLO, FTW and all the other silly sayings we use today are actually working against us.

What are you doing? This is your life. Stop cursing it away. Stop wasting it. Live today, be kind (because it costs nothing to be nice), help someone who cannot help you back, love your family, exercise (anything to get you to break a sweat), eat your favourite food and please, for your own body’s sake, drink lots of water.

Don’t live for Saturdays but live everyday like it is a SATURDAY!
